I am also a descendant of the Gagnon family from Baie St. Paul, Quebec. My grandfather was Onesime Gagnon, who married Albina Mailloux. Robert Mailloux, Albina's brother, was the Minister of Transportation for the Province of Quebec in the late '60 and mid-'70's.

My mother met my dad in Baie St. Paul while he and his adopted father, Napoleon Cimon, were visiting with relatives.

I do speak French. In fact, I was a tour guide in Europe in the '70s because I could speak a second language. I have more information about our Gagnon family history on a CD that I could share. I know there are many descendants, but it's certainly very interesting to learn. I can be reached at johanne.cimon@gmail.com

Thank you.

I am doing my husband's family tree and apparently he is a descendant of the Gagnon family. It is very interesting. I traced it back from Anne Gagnon too Pierre Gagnon. Most of his family orginated from Canada and some either reside in Wisconsin or Illinois.

My mother's side of the Gagnon Family are descendants of Jean Gagnon, who came to New France (Quebec) from a small village west of Paris in France with two of his brothers, Pierre and Mathurin. Their family were innkeepers.

I recently tracked my family to
Joseph VIII Gagnon
Birth ABT 1385

I have been using ancestry.ca I was surprised and was doubting the information dating so far back. Your page here has also confirmed it.

Good Evening:
I found your blog through googling the name Gagnon. My great grandmother was Cecelia Gagnon Strickland. Her parents were Etienne and Olive (nee: Laurent) Gagnon. I am not 100% of the spelling as I have seen it spelled Gonyea/Gonyeau. In fact it was spelled differently each time in the Census. Etienne was born Dec 1814 in Quebec Canada and died in Colchester VT 6 Aug 1879. He married Olive Laurent about 1849 I THINK in Canada then moved to Black Brook, NY soon afterwards. He was a cooper and then a lass maker. I saw that you have an Etienne in you listing of Gagnon. I would appreciate any information that you can give me as Etienne is my brick-wall.

Thank you - Holly L. Moore

I am also a descendant of Barnabe Gagnon. My grandpa was Armand Olivier-Joseph Gagnon from Quesnel,British Columbia. His father was Ovide Gagnon who came from Malbaie, Quebec, Canada. His father was Joseph Adjutor Gagnon from Malbaie, Quebec. Who's father is Michel Gagnon. Then it goes Simon Gagnon father of Michel. Isaac Gagnon father of Simon. Joseph Gagnon father of Issac. Etienne Gagnon father of Joseph.

Joseph Gagnon born Nov 28th 1685 in Chateau Richer, Montmorency, P. Q. father of Etienne. Then Jean Gagnon, father of Joseph. Then Jean Gagnon born 13 Aug 1610 in La Gagnonniere, Tourouvre, France. Father of Jean Gagnon from Quebec City, P. Q. Then Pierre Gagnon who is the father of Jean Gagnon from La Gagnonniere, Tourouvre, France. his father was Barnabe Gagnon.

Just had a read through this and the Origin of Gagnon in New France on the side and think we may share a common ancestor. My dad once traced our family history back to Jean Gagnon and Marie Geffray, whose son Robert Gagnon emigrated to Quebec in the mid 1600s. I'm not sure exactly the relation between Jean Gagnon and your ancestors, but I do know that he lived in La Ventrouze. My family lives in Australia currently, so it's difficult for me to research my ancestry, so it's interesting to come across articles like these.

When thinking about http://www.faucetsmarket.com/bathroom-accessory-bathroom-mirrors-c-4_5.html we need to remember that the bathroom, as we know it, is still relatively new. Before 1870, Victorians would slide into a hip Kitchen faucet in front of the fire. These shallow Antique brass faucet were curved up the back making a comfortable rest and were made of iron or zinc, usually painted dark brown on the outside and cream or marbled on the inside. http://www.faucetsmarket.com/
